This is the area which is closest to the railway station and includes Hilvertshof Indoor Shopping Centre and several parking garages. At the recently renovated Hilvertshof you will find a Dirk supermarket on lowest level, Zara, H&M, Mango, Primark, Kiko (make-up), Pipoos (a shop where you can get handicraft supplies), Blokker (a household chain), a new pet store Pets Place, a Dunkin’ Donuts and many other shops. On the top floor is a huge parking garage. A little further along, at the top of Emmastraat, you will find Kings IJscafe for delicious ice creams and Banket Bakkerij Burgt for a fabulous selection of baked goods. (The PTA use both of these businesses to supply treats for the students and staff during the school year.)

This is an open shopping center, but covered with a roof. There are boutiques as well as shops like Bunker. 

The Hilversum open-air market (Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am-4pm). Close to the centre you will also find four grocery stores: GoodyFood (organic), Aldi, Dirk and Hoogvliet.

Every Thursday it is late night shopping in Hilversum. Stores open till 9pm. Also many of the downtown shops are open on a Sunday between 12-5pm (www.centrumhilversum.nl).

This main street contains many shops, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, etc, as well as the excellent wine shop Mijn Hemel. Every Friday night shops open until 9pm. Twice a year in summer and autumn there is an open-air market on Sunday afternoon from 1-5pm where local farmers sell their products and where you can stroll along enjoying the atmosphere and try all their goodies (www.trotsmarkt.nl and www.puremarkt.nl).

This shopping centre in the north-east of Hilversum has free underground parking, contains two large supermarkets and several shops around it. Across the street is a Jumbo supermarket.

This indoor shopping centre is found south-west of Hilversum.  Here you will find an assortment of 27 shops plus the largest Albert Heijn and Lidl supermarkets in Hilversum.  It has been totally rebuilt and renovated over the last couple of years (www.winkelcentrumkerkelanden.nl). Albert Heijn, Lidl and Kruidvat are also open on Sundays.

This online shop sells clogs and slippers of every type, size and colour - from souvenirs and gifts to everyday wear.

Hilversum has two main Do-it-yourself stores: Karwei and Gamma. For a really large selection and good prices on many items, a 20 minute drive to Hornbach in Nieuwegein is worth the journey.
